The Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) is holding a byelection to fill some of its empty seats on council.

The voting period opened today and runs until Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Undergraduate students in eligible faculties can vote for their faculty representatives through an electronic ballot sent to their Carleton emails.

Students in the Sprott School of Business will not receive a ballot as no nominations were received, according to a CUSA press release.

Any seats unfilled after this byelection would stay vacant for the rest of the current council term, CUSA chief returning officer Connor Plante told the Charlatan in a statement, adding there would not be an additional byelection.

Councillor responsibilities include passing CUSA’s budget and voting on issues brought forward to the student union.
