Paroma Ray is a third-year student in a bachelor of music with a minor in French and political science. She is the Carleton Academic Student Government vice-president (internal), a Carleton University Students’ Association orientation facilitator, and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences student senator.

My compulsive need to make every aspect of my life perfect.
How would you like to die?
It is important that I live long enough to have accomplished everything I had set out to do since I was young.
 I want to make sure that I am successful, happy, and that my children have their grandparents to raise them.
When it is time, I want to be taken off life support.
What is your greatest fear?
Losing the most important people in my life. I don’t know what I would do had it not been for my mom and my dad.

I’m North American, East Indian, South Asian, from West Bengal.

What do you like most about yourself?
I’m ambitious, independent, hardworking and strong.
What is the trait you most hate in others?
A trait that I dislike in others is insensitivity to people and to other living creatures.

Probably my guitar… she’s blue!

I have two: “Watch Me Shine” by Joanna Pacitti and “Perfect Day” by Hoku.

Cleopatra: born to privilege, tries to save the world and wears her heart on her sleeve.

What is your most treasured possession?
Brownnie (my teddy bear). Yes, I realize that I didn’t win the spelling bee when I was little.
