Women’s ultimate goes 2 and 4 at Eastern’s

The Carleton women’s ultimate team put in a good showing at Canadian Eastern University Ultimate Championships this weekend.

The team started off strong with a 15-0 win over McGill University.

Carleton took a key blow when captain Paula Saliba injured her shoulder in the second point of the game. Saliba played the rest of the tournament with a throwing handicap.

The team went 2-4 over the weekend, with close losses to University of Toronto 11-8 and to University of Western Ontario 12-9.

The Carleton Ravens open ultimate team proved it could be one of the top teams in Canada, yet there is still plenty of room for improvement.

After only losing three players from last season’s roster and gaining a handful of potential stars and contributors, we have extremely high expectations for the 2009 Canadian university ultimate fall season.
