Gold in sight
Carleton’s men’s and women’s varsity water polo teams hosted five universities Nov. 14-15.
The women’s team won all three of their matches, defeating University of Toronto 16-10, McMaster University 11-1 and York University18-3.

Where they break it down
Six-steps, swipes, windmills, air flares and freezes are just some of the terms thrown around in conversation and then put into practice when a bunch of B-boys meet together on Monday and Thursday nights in the Carleton tunnels just outside the Oasis.
Breakers Andrew Sampson, Allister Xavier and B-boy Kamikazi and B-boy Lids, who prefer to be known by their B-boy names, all represent different breaking crews across the province.
“We all come meet here together for the love for the art of breaking,” said B-boy Kamikazi.
Would-be captain benched
Would-be captain of Carleton’s men’s varsity water polo team, Gordon Cameron, found himself unable to play the sport he loves this year when an eligibility issue forced him to hang-up his bathing suit and watch from the sidelines.
“Obviously it sucks,” said Cameron, “This was supposed to be my last year and now instead last year was my last year.”
Swimming to a solid seventh
The Carleton men’s and women’s varsity swimming teams found themselves in the fast lane, racking up a number of personal bests after competing in the Campbell Division championship hosted by the University of Guelph Nov. 14-15.
The two teams finished with a combined score of 183 for an overall seventh-place finish.
The Ravens were represented by 10 swimmers, including Katie McClean who placed fourth in the women’s 200-metre butterfly, and Kaitlin Swales who placed sixth in the women’s 200-metre breaststroke.
