Ravens soar past RMC
The Carleton men’s basketball team improved its record to 13-1 in the season following a 95-44 beat down of the Royal Military College (RMC) Paladins Jan. 23 in the Ravens’ Nest.
Ravens soar over Gee-Gees at Capital Hoops
Many might have confused the Jan. 27 game at Scotiabank Place for a NCAA Final Four event during March Madness. Carleton and the University of Ottawa, ranked number one and number two in the Ontario University Athletics East division respectively, put on a display of energy and overall great basketball in front of a loud crowd of both Gee-Gee and Raven supporters. In the end of a back-and-forth affair, Carleton prevailed with a 74-66 win. With 8, 074 fans on hand to watch the game, the intensity started right away from both teams.
Stingers end Raven streak in shootout
After a five-game winning streak, the Ravens men’s hockey team took a hard loss to the Concordia Stingers Jan. 20 at the Ice House.
The Ravens had just come off a back-to-back on-the-road victory weekend against McGill University Jan. 16 and Concordia Jan. 17. The Sunday game against Concordia, which saw the Ravens coming from behind and winning 2-1 in a shootout, was to almost repeat itself. But Concordia came from behind and won 3-2 in a shootout.
