Ravens start strong against Norweigans

It was a tale of two Victorias Sept. 3 at the Ice House, as the Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team handed Norway’s national women’s team their first loss of their Canadian tour, with an exciting 2-1 victory.

Victoria Gouge, going into her second year on defence, scored the game-winner with just under seven minutes left in the game.

“We were just on with everything,” she said about the game. “Our passing was on. We had good defence. We skated really hard.”

Former coach files lawsuit against Carleton

Carleton has denied all allegations of damages in the $600,000 lawsuit filed in June by former varsity men’s hockey coach Fred Parker, saying its decision not to renew Parker’s contract was based on Parker’s strained relationship with the university and apparent lack of commitment.

Ravens spirit on the field and in the stands

Everyone tells you that you’re going to university to learn. While that may be true, there’s also nothing wrong with getting in touch with your athletic side while at school. Carleton offers students many opportunities to be involved in the sporting community, be it on the field, court, ice, pool or in the stands.

Ravens’ hockey vet joins coaching ranks

Ravens’ veteran Valerie Charbonneau was recently named assistant coach of the Carleton women’s ice hockey team. Following five years goaltending for the Ravens, Charbonneau, 23, moves into her new role as assistant coach this year.
