Taking the sting out of the Stingers

A week after crushing the rival University of Ottawa Gee-Gees 8-1 on home ice, the Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team was at it again Oct. 23, defeating the Concordia Stingers 2-1 in a shootout at the Ice House to push their record to a perfect 2-0.

“The team is gelling very well,” said Ravens assistant coach Mandi Duhamel. “The teamwork is there. Being 2-0 so far is a great start and a good showing of what we can do this season.”

Bucking the trend

In a season of low-scoring, nail-biting games, the Carleton Ravens men’s soccer team bucked the trend Oct. 17 in their game against the Nipissing Lakers, scoring three times in the second half to secure a 3-0 win.

Strong start for lady Ravens

The Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team got their 2010-11 campaign off to a perfect start with a demolition job of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees Oct. 17 at the Carleton Ice House.

Victory over the Vikes

The Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team captured their 10th straight House-Laughton Hoops Classic title with a 82-67 victory over the University of Victoria Vikes Oct. 17 at the Ravens’ Nest.

CU no longer ultimate frisbee champs

The Carleton Ravens men’s ultimate frisbee team failed to repeat as national champions last weekend in the Canadian University Ultimate Championships, as they dropped their semifinal tilt to Guelph Oct. 17 in Ottawa, Ont.
