Ravens go .500 on the road
The Carleton Ravens women’s basketball team struggled against some stiff competition on their last road trip of the month, in what head coach Taffe Charles called a “tough weekend” for the squad.
The Ravens faced the fourth-ranked University of Western Ontario Mustangs Nov. 19 and came away with a close 67-65 win, before falling 68-48 to the second-ranked University of Windsor Lancers the next evening.
Across the pond and onto the pitch
Michael Bettley, a 20-year-old exchange student from England’s University of Leeds, came across the pond in September, and is now helping Carleton’s women’s rugby team improve their craft.
With four snapped ligaments in his shoulder and his foot in a cast due to stress fractures in a previous rugby game, Bettley turned his attention towards coaching this season.
Ravens keep rolling
The Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team continued their domination of Ontario University Athletics (OUA) this weekend, crushing the University of Windsor Lancers by a score of 78-59 in a contest that saw the league’s only two undefeated teams do battle.
The Ravens, fueled offensively by guards Philip Scrubb and Elliot Thompson, improved their record to 6-0 on the season. The road game started slowly for Carleton, who trailed 24-19 after the first quarter and tied at 37 after the first half.
