Women’s hockey falls to McGill and Concordia
The comeback efforts of the Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team fell short Feb. 5-6, when they lost 2-1 to McGill University and 3-2 to Concordia University on the road.
Lomas, Smith honoured at final game of season
Graduating guards Bailey Lomas and Courtney Smith were honoured at the Carleton Ravens women’s basketball team’s final home game of the season against the Queen’s University Golden Gaels Jan. 29.
At halftime, Ravens head coach Taffe Charles made a special presentation, speaking about Lomas’ and Smith’s recruitment and their presence on the team.
At the end of the presentation, both players were awarded a framed jersey as a token of their time spent with the Ravens.
MacLean leads Canada to bronze at World University Games
It’s one thing to lead your university hockey team in scoring, as Ravens forward Brandon MacLean has done for the majority of the past two years.
Ravens men ski for gold at OUA Championships
The Carleton Ravens men’s Nordic ski team topped the podium for the second straight year at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Championships Feb. 5–6 in Sudbury, Ont.
The women’s team finished just off the podium in fourth place.
Head coach Chris Mamen said his men’s squad didn’t have this season’s top spot in the bag, despite being the defending champions.
Ravens defeat the McGill Redmen at the Ice House
It was a fitting send-off for four-year captain Brad Good as the Carleton Ravens men’s hockey team ground out a 3-0 win against the University of McGill Redmen at the Ice House Feb. 5.
Good’s contributions to the team were honoured in a special ceremony before the game.
While Ravens forwards Ryan Berard and Brandon MacLean were in Turkey representing Canada at the World University Games, the rest of the team more than made up for their absence, according to head coach Marty Johnston.
