Young Ravens outclassed by defending champs

The Carleton Ravens women's soccer team slumped to a disappointing 4-0 defeat to the defending Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) champions Queen’s University Gaels Sept. 7 at Carleton’s Keith Harris Stadium.

Carleton kayaker looks to London 2012

Second-year political science student Mike Tayler has been a member of the Junior National Team for slalom kayaking for the last three years.

He has been a paddler at the Ottawa River Runners Club for the last 11 years and at the Canadian National Championships last month, Tayler won the senior men’s K-1 slalom race.
The Charlatan’s Lana Peric caught up with Tayler to talk training, school, and his goal to make it to the Summer Olympics in 2012.



Carleton men’s basketball team improves to 4-4

In what head coach Dave Smart labelled “an August game,” the Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team blew out the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) Niagara University Purple Eagles 85-55 Sept. 2 at the Ravens’ Nest.

Despite the big win, Smart said it’s too early to say the Ravens are in seasonal form.

Even though they shot well, he said his team got a bit lazy in the second half, resulting in sloppy plays.

Carleton men’s soccer team record perfect start to season

The Carleton Ravens men’s soccer team kicked off their 2011 season on the right foot, winning their first two games Aug. 4-5.

Ravens women’s soccer team split first two games

The Carleton Ravens women’s soccer team returned to the field Sept. 3-4, splitting its first two games to open the 2011 season.
