Men’s hockey team drops pre-season opener
The Carleton Ravens men’s hockey team has dropped the puck on its 2011-12 pre-season, opening with a hard-fought 4-3 loss to the Nipissing University Lakers Sept. 16.
In a game that saw the Ravens fall behind by two goals on two separate occasions, it was the Lakers proficiency on special teams that ultimately made the difference.

When the Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team begins its defence of last season’s Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) championship, fans will have a chance to witness some new and exciting talent on display inside the Ravens’ Nest this season.
After yet another summer of strong recruiting, there will be a total of five new players on the roster.
But despite the different faces for head coach Dave Smart this season, the most glaring roster change may not be an addition at all.

The Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team wrapped up their nine-game stint against National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition Sept. 8, winning five of nine games.
The games weren’t all smiles and success for the Ravens, who despite keeping all their losses to within 10 points, were often pushed around in the earlier games against the bigger NCAA competition.
Ravens thrash Paladins
The Carleton Ravens men’s soccer team demolished the Royal Military College (RMC) Paladins 10-0 Sept. 11 in Kingston, Ont., bringing the Ravens’ road record early in the season to a perfect 3-0.
An early opening goal came from striker Caki Simrooglu at the two-minute mark, while midfielders Joey Kewin and Josh Dewar-Morris followed up with two goals each in the opening half.
