Ravens capture third straight Metro Glebe title
The Carleton Ravens women’s basketball team fought their way through the Metro Glebe tournament last weekend to grab their third consecutive championship title with a perfect 3-0 record.
“I thought we were very strong this weekend,” said head coach Taffe Charles. “I challenged them to play with a lot more energy and passion and I thought we got better every game.”
The women tipped off the tournament Oct. 14 against the Université de Quebec à Montréal Citadins with a convincing 74-47 victory.
Ravens split regular season openers
The Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team picked up three of a possible four points Oct. 15-16 in their first two regular season games of the 2011-12 campaign.
Ravens baseball team headed to nationals
After spending many years wallowing in mediocrity, the Carleton Ravens men’s baseball team is now making its mark on the Canadian Intercollegiate Baseball Association (CIBA).
For the first time in over 15 years, the Ravens will have a chance to bring home a championship ring when they travel to Moncton, N.B. for the CIBA national championship Oct. 21-23.
The men qualified for the competition by sweeping a three-game series with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees Oct. 8.

Ravens open season with two losses
The Carleton Ravens men’s hockey team started their season on a losing note Oct. 7-8, dropping both of their road games against the Brock Badgers and the Western Mustangs.
“We were hoping to go in there and come out with two wins, but we didn’t perform to the best of our capabilities both games,” said Ravens defenceman Justin Caruana. “We need to find out what is going on, get back to work this week during practice, and try and turn things around this coming weekend.”
