The Ontario government’s announcement of $150 million in immediate, one-time support to Ontario universities and colleges is a much-appreciated effort given the current state of the economy, said Carleton University president Dr. Roseann Runte.

New taxi pick-up spots around campus
Carleton University and Coventry Connections – the company that owns several Ottawa taxi services - have launched a SafeCab program, the department of university safety announced.
Instead of only one taxi stand outside of residence commons, cabs will now also wait in front of the University Centre. Around campus, there are 10 identified spots in well-lit areas where cabs will do pick-ups.
Though the number listed to call is for Blueline, Coventry also owns Capital Taxi and DJ's.
