London calling as 50,000 protest

London erupted in outrage and frustration Nov. 10 when thousands marched to protest against the government’s plans to cut university funding and triple tuition fees in Britain.

The National Union of Students (NUS) and the University and College Union (UCU) organized the march. With more than 50,000 participants, Susan Nash, NUS vice-president (society and citizenship), called it “a wake-up call for politicians.”
