With so much information available in this day and age, it can become difficult to process it all. Which issues are the most important? Are they as simple as they seem? Vacation mentality puts Bahamas to work

Sitting on the beach at Britannia Park during the Ottawa Folk Festival, Afie Jurvanen looks like he’s on holiday, not at work. The tanned and tailored musician seems
more interested in going for a swim — but who can blame him, after the year he has had.

After releasing his first full-length album, Pink Strat, under the name Bahamas, Jurvanen spent the year touring and promoting the album.

Acts ranging from Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq to hip-hop all-stars Arrested Development showcased the diversity of folk music at the 17th annual Ottawa Folk Festival, which ran from Aug. 13–15 and featured over 45 artists from around the world.
