DiFranco and Ferrick bring rhythm and sass to Bronson Centre
Melissa Ferrick and Ani DiFranco in one room – to put it simply, you had to be there.
Nine-hundred Ottawa residents would agree with me, because when Melissa Ferrick first came out to open the show there wasn’t a seat in the Bronson Centre theatre left empty or a voice that wasn’t sore from cheering.
Six characters, one peculiar play
“Four hundred and fifty people is daunting, I’m glad I’m wearing black pants so you won’t see when I pee myself,” said Geoff Burnside, a first-year criminology student.
Burnside is referring to his first venture into theatre at Carleton, where he’ll be playing the role of Son in Sock n’ Buskin’s production of Six Characters in Search of an Author.
One World showcases feature length documentaries
This year’s 21st annual One World Film Festival was a success, thanks in large part to increased attendance and a decision to go with feature-length documentaries in lieu of the festival’s more standard shorts, according to the festival co-chair, Carlyn Elliott-Magwood.
