Folk artist Afie Jurvanen, better known as Bahamas, strummed the night away at Maverick's Nov. 20. Bahamas was accompanied by Toronto alt. country artist Doug Paisley and That's the Spirit, the musical pseudonym of Ben Wilson.

With five years and over 50 shows under its belt, Basement Artists has become a cultural hub for alternative art and emerging artists. But to emcee Adam Tupper, it’s time to pull the organization out of the far fringes.

Basement Artists is an Ottawa organization that features both local musicians and artists at hot-spot venues around the city.

New to the team, Tupper has become the voice for Basement Artists, also acting as the organization’s media relations representative.
