Rain boots, snow boots, knee-high boots, thigh-high boots, ankle boots, leather boots; they’re all finally coming out to rule the footwear world, and our campus students could not be wearing them with any surplus of sartorial perfection. I love how both students were able to incorporate boots into their wardrobe in two completely opposite ways, without abandoning their personal instinct when it comes to fashion and dressing to their best. If you’re still running around in flip flops, the best of luck to you in the next few weeks.

Cathie, first-year law student

Tell us what you’re working with today!
I’m wearing a leather jacket and boots from Urban Behaviour, I got this lace blouse from a vintage store in Toronto, and my pants are from a vintage store in Jamaica! The necklace and earrings from H&M. I forget where my purse is from, though.

If you were Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, who would you put on the cover and what would they be wearing?
I would put David Beckham on the cover, with a nice pair of jeans. Going for that casual look!

How does dressing up make you feel?
Good! I love dressing up for my own personal benefit. I just love dressing up in general.

Taylor, second-year communication studies student

Tell me what you’re wearing and where you got it all from!
The cardigan and the skirt are from H&M, the boots are from Walmart, the socks from Winners, the backpack is hand-me-down from a friend, and the top I’m pretty sure is from Smart Set. Oh, and the necklace is from the boyfriend!

If you were Anna Wintour at Vogue, who would you feature to front the cover?
I would have to say Kate Beckinsale, I have the hots for her and she’s a gorgeous brunette! I would have her wear Alexander McQueen, something maybe dark and angular.

What horrifies you about style on campus?
8:30 classes. I would never let myself fall to that level. If anything I would go for a cardigan and a pair of jeans, but I really don’t like being seen in pajamas and sweat pants, it’s a point of personal pride. It can get hard when you get lazy but I always pick out my outfit the night before!
