Re: “The latest attack on Islam“
Sept. 16-22

The recent article by Ruba Khan entitled “The latest attack on Islam” contained a significant error which should be corrected.

The U.S. Constitution does not give people the right to be free from “the fear of having your most holy book burned.”

On the contrary, the Constitution protects the right of crazy people like Pastor Jones to burn whatever book he chooses.

Obviously I do not condone the (cancelled) event that Jones had intended to hold, but his right to do it is protected under the First Amendment. It may be insensitive to offend people, but in America it is not unconstitutional.
