The 5th annual Ottawa Craft Beer Festival took place over three days from Aug. 26-28 in the Aberdeen Pavillion in Lansdowne, featuring a selection of craft beers from local Ottawans to try.

According to festival’s website, this year also featured European imported beers, ciders, and wines “for those with a different appreciation,” as well as various savoury eateries for guests.

The main event area was set up in booths, with one for each participating brewery to have select beers on tap for participants to try in sample 4 oz cups that cost $2 to fill.

Craft breweries attended from cities across Ontario, including Steam Whistle, Wellington and Whitewater, who had booths alongside larger international breweries like Steigl, Pilsner-Urquell and Horizon Beers. A total of 40 breweries attended the event overall, according to the website.

Another feature of the festival was the variety of different beer related games and activities run throughout the weekend. Some events included a “beer school,” which featured different speakers lecturing attendees on different styles of beer and pairing them with cheese, as well as “beer yoga,” which included mindful beer tasting and a beer themed five kilometre run.
