The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2424 has announced on social media that a tentative agreement has been reached with the Carleton administration, resulting in the immediate suspension of picket lines.

According to a tweet from the CUPE 2424 Twitter account, a membership ratification vote will take place on April 3 at 8 p.m.

The union, which represents more than 850 technical, administrative and clerical workers at Carleton, has been on strike since March 5 after failing to reach an agreement with the university about pension language in the new collective agreement. Two other negotiation sessions took place during the strike, but both failed to come to an agreement.

More to come.
