Charlatan Publications Inc. is currently looking to fill its positions on the organization’s Board of Directors. A maximum of:
- One (1) student director, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI);
- One (1) student director, legal affairs and ethical practices;
- One (1) student director, community engagement;
- One (1) student director, policy and strategic planning;
- Two (2) staff representatives;
- One (1) treasurer and;
- One (1) secretary.
The Board of Directors, all of which act on a volunteer basis, oversees all administrative aspects of the organization, including but not limited to:
- Hiring and Dismissal;
- Editor-in-Chief and Section Editor elections;
- Finances and Investments;
- Governance, and Constitution and Bylaw adjustments;
- Public Engagement and;
- Policy Direction of the Corporation.
All Carleton students are invited to apply. If interested, please send a one-page (double-sided) CV and a 250-word personal statement about the applicant’s reasons for serving on the Board. The statement should also include whether the applicant has a specific interest in one of the positions listed above. All applications must include five (5) signatures from current Carleton students in nomination and their student numbers.

Please note: applications with an interest in specialized student director positions are not guaranteed said specialized positions.
Due to the potential for a conflict of interest, according to the Charlatan’s bylaws and constitution, no individuals who will serve or have served as a representative for RRRA, CUSA, GSA or CASG within the past year can be appointed to the Board.
The Board of Directors are currently volunteers and do not receive financial compensation.
