Bailey Moreton is a third-year journalism and political science student born in England and raised in Scotland, moving to Canada when he was 13.

Bailey first became interested in journalism through creative writing lessons at his elementary school in Scotland and decided to attend Carleton after watching political journalism shows such as the West Wing and the Newsroom.

First getting involved covering a Carleton men’s soccer game, Bailey has gone to write for features, news, national, op/ed, arts and sports. He was also a staff representative on the Charlatan board in the second-half of his second year, before becoming features editor.

As an editor you can find Bailey scrambling to find an empty room to call a source in, or squinting at the computer screen when doing layout. Outside of editor-life can find Bailey screaming at his laptop watching a Liverpool game (unless he’s in a lecture, then just silently screaming), participating in intramurals or hanging out and watching a movie.

Bailey is excited to continue producing in-depth reporting and engaging visual layouts for the features section, and hopes to help lots of writers tell stories that are important to them.
