According to an email sent at roughly 9:30 a.m Nov. 29, the Carleton administration has reached an agreement with its two student unions regarding the withholding of collected union fees that has been ongoing since Nov. 1.
The email was sent on behalf of the Carleton administration, the Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) and the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA), stating that the parties had come to an agreement that “allows the university to fulfil the recommendation of its auditors, ensures the annual collection of democratically decided membership fees and levies, while reinforcing the independence of CUSA and GSA.”
This agreement comes hours before both CUSA and the GSA had planned to rally students in protest against the administration during a Board of Governors meeting.
