Timothy Austen is a third-year film studies student and the photo editor of the Charlatan. After a not so successful cycling career, with highlights including a trip to the Canada Summer Games, he got involved with the Charlatan–because his dad encouraged him to follow in his foot steps. Outside of cycling and photography, Tim loves movies, his favourite movie is Blade Runner 2049 or Apocalypse Now!
The Charlatan has been publishing at Carleton for more than 70 years. The first issue was published on Nov. 28, 1945, under the name the Carleton. In the 1970s the name was changed to represent a more edgy newspaper the editors sought to shape.
