Name: Christian Belisle
Program/Year: Human rights and film, third year
Position: Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) councillor
1. Why are you running for CUSA council?
I am running for CUSA because I feel like students’ wants, needs and desires have been consistently and repeatedly suppressed. I have noticed this year that CUSA is entirely dysfunctional and I want students to be properly and adequately represented.
2. What do you think makes you a good candidate?
This is my first year being enthralled in CUSA politics. I am a good candidate because I will bring a new and original perspective to CUSA. I am ready to listen to all FASS students and promote their participation in CUSA, clubs, societies and service centres. I am friendly, approachable and will always put my integrity and good nature first.
3. What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?
I will make CUSA more accessible to students who feel they don’t have a say in CUSA or who feel CUSA does not represent them. I will also promote increased activism on multiple levels for increased meaningful and open space on campus.
4. What’s one fun fact about yourself?
I can sing almost any song in “meows.” I will also break into song (and dance, if necessary) when I feel the moment warrants it. And trust me, we can all benefit from some impromptu song and dance.
