Name: Clarissa Chambers

Program/year: Communications, first year

Position running for: Public affairs councillor

1. Why are you running for CUSA council?

I am interested in running for CUSA council because I believe in order to get the most out of your student experience one must get involved. I have done volunteer work for CUSA initiatives (Drop Fees) and other organizations (Alzheimer Society, Do It For Daron) this year and want to continue to contribute to the community through the position of public affairs councillor. I’m very excited to be running for public affairs councillor on CUSA this year and I want to work with the other councillors to promote a safer and more unified campus.

2. What do you think makes you a good candidate?

My dedication to my fellow students makes me a great candidate. I’m a very dedicated individual and when I commit myself to something, I put everything I have into it. I’m interested in making a difference in my school community and know that I can do that through this position.

3.  What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?

If elected, I hope to achieve more student accessible space, which will give students the opportunity to use their campus space for free. I also hope to increase participation in CUSA-run events, by creating more awareness of all the programs and events that CUSA has to offer the students of Carleton.

4. What’s one fun fact about yourself?

I’m a huge supporter of synergy. Every organization could use some more.
