Name: Ryan Marshall
Program/year: Linguistics, third year
Position running for: Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) councillor
1. Why are you running for CUSA council?
I would like to see (and help) change CUSA. Council is elected by students and, as such, councillors and execs should serve students, not their own personal agendas.
2. What do you think makes you a good candidate?
I have experience as a club executive, have volunteered and been a team leader (president) for Sprosh, and want to the voice of students to be heard. I have actually been a student at Carleton for almost five years actually, and have seen and heard a lot of issues students face at Carleton.
3. What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?
– Increase club space on campus (there currently is pretty much no designated club space on campus unless you count Sock ‘n’ Buskin or CU Relay for Life).
– I plan to fight for increased OC Transpo service to and from campus.
4. What’s one fun fact about yourself?
I have ridden a horse on the Great Wall of China.
