Name: Camy La Riccia
Program/year: Social work, first year
Position running for: Public affairs councillor
1. Why are you running for CUSA council?
I’m running for CUSA council because I believe it’s a great opportunity to get involved and contribute to our Carleton community. I’m here to represent all the first-year students in public affairs who want their issues heard. I have always wanted to support people and I believe this opportunity will allow me to do just that because I hope to become their “voice.”
2. What do you think makes you a good candidate?
What makes me a good candidate is that I believe that I will be able to provide a fresh voice to council because I am in first year. I believe this experience will allow me to gain new knowledge and gain perspective of the issues that Carleton students may have.
3. What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?
If elected, I hope to get more security protection services to make sure that students feel safe every hour of the day (i.e more foot patrol). As well, if elected I hope to get more food options running in the caf, so that everyone’s dietary needs are met.
4. What’s one fun fact about yourself?
I am fluent in Italian, sarcasm and “Franglish”
