A large pool of blood was found on the floor of Residence Commons on March 7 after a Carleton student accidentally cut his arm while punching through glass.
“It was just a call for medical assistance that involved one person. There was no risk or harm to the rest of the community,” said Mark Hargreaves, Campus Safety community liaison officer.
Hargreaves said paramedics and Carleton University Student Emergency Response Team (CUSERT) responded to the call for medical attention but declined to give any more details.
The student later identified himself in a Facebook post and said he “lacerated and degloved” his arm. He apologized to anyone it had an effect on and for any disturbance caused by the incident.
He said it was an accident and also thanked the two other students who helped him after cutting his arm.
The student asked not to be named and declined to comment further on the incident.
