Run by students for students, the Charlatan has been providing the Carleton community with independent news and entertainment for more than 75 years. All current Carleton students interested in helping with the paper’s production are welcome to join the Charlatan’s volunteer team at any time—no experience required.
Students can sign up to write articles, take pictures, illustrate graphics, copy edit, create multimedia content or contribute to any other section of interest. Students can sign up for a combination of these roles or even all of them. Volunteering is flexible, meaning students can contribute as much or as little as they like.
There are a few ways to start volunteering. Typically, students are encouraged to visit the Charlatan office located on the fifth floor of Nideyinan (room 531) to meet the staff.
To get involved, students can always email the editor-in-chief Natasha Baldin at editor.charlatan@gmail.com or fill out the form below to join the volunteer list and start contributing. To meet the section editors, students can check out the staff page of the Charlatan website and email editors to learn more about each section’s content.
