The [Sept. 5 issue of the] Ottawa Sun ran an info piece about an app for Carleton students to find their way around campus. Good use of technology!
The story itself was innocuous, but the comments from the peanut gallery below were the same bunch of re-hashed childish attacks on Carleton: “The ‘K’ stands for quality,” blah blah blah.
Since 2003, I have worked in an industry that places senior consultants in government roles.
Let me make something amply clear: Queen’s University BA = University of Ottawa BA = Carleton University BA = Laurentian University BA = University of Victoria BA = Memorial University of Newfoundland BA. All that matters is that the BA, MA, PhD etc . . . came from an accredited university. There is no hierarchy of schools.
This reminds me of the maxim, “Do you know what they call the doctor who graduated last in his class? Doctor.”
Never feel bad about your school or your degree; all that matters is that you have it.
