Cassie Aylward is a second-year journalism student and the Charlatan’s National editor for the 2011-12 school year. Cassie spent most of her life living about 40 minutes outside of Ottawa and decided to combine her loves of media and getting involved in anybody and everybody’s business to study journalism at Carleton.
Besides journalism, Cassie also loves music and has been playing guitar since the ripe old age of seven. Along the way, she also picked up bass, drumming and piano. Cassie is known around the Charlatan newsroom for her obsession with rap music, and the sad illusion that she is actually a bad-ass rapper known as C-Breezy.
So if you ever want to write a story, have a jam session (or a rap battle), or talk about what happened on Jersey Shore last night, come hang out in the Charlatan newsroom. We’ll be friends in no time.
