Hilary Roberts is a fourth-year journalism and law major. Born in Ottawa and raised in Kanata, the most uninspiring suburb on Earth, Hilary has always been a bookworm with aspirations of finding something or somewhere more interesting than the quiet National Capital Region.
She’s still searching, but journalism school has helped her discover the stories of a diverse range of people, making Ottawa a little bit less boring.
As this year’s Perspectives editor, Hilary is excited to work with the Charlatan’s volunteers to profile awesome people at Carleton, both in print and online.
In her spare time, Hilary likes to explore the city with her friends, cheer on her (forever-losing) Ottawa Senators, imagine she’s conducting interviews for Vanity Fair instead of reporting classes, ruin her credit score by buying too many shoes, and flip though the pages of American Vogue while pretending she’s Anna Wintour or Grace Coddington.
