Windsor Police are investigating after threats of violence against St. Clair College students were posted on Twitter Jan. 23, according to a press release.

Police arrested 18-year-old Adam Moroz, who allegedly threatened to shoot students at the college under the Twitter handle @AdamWmoroz.

The account warned to “wear a red shirt if you want to live” because he was “shooting up the school tomorrow.”

Moroz was arrested at Riverside High School without incident and charged with conveying a threat, according to the press release.

He had been enrolled in an alternative program at the high school this semester after attending St. Clair College last term, according to the Windsor Star. Riverside was under lockdown as a safety precaution, while St. Clair’s south campus was closed temporarily as police investigated.

While the Twitter account is currently suspended, police are reminding the public about appropriate use of social media and are asking parents “to be vigilant with their children regarding social media,” a further release stated.
