OC Transpo busses are being redirected due to a water main break Nov. 25 on Campus Avenue near the O-Train stop and Prescott residence.
University safety’s community liaison Mark Hargreaves said the break was first noticed by campus security who reported seeing “excess water on the road at the south-east corner of Prescott residence.”
To prevent any further damage or sinkholes, university safety shut down the road to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and rerouted all buses along University Drive to the stop in front of athletics.
Assistant director of maintenance services Kevin Gallinger said water to Prescott and Renfrew residences is shut off, and will be until repairs are made.
Carleton’s housing department is in contact with students in those residences, he said.
Gallinger said repairs could be done tonight or tomorrow, depending on what the problem is.
