Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4600, which represents 1600 teaching assistants and 800 contract instructors voted 92% and 92.5% in favour of ratifying their settlement Nov. 26.

Mat Nelson, co-president of CUPE 4600 said, "The deal was the best we could get under the circumstances, but the struggle isn’t over. We will continue to advocate for fair wages and benefits for all TAs and contract instructors."

According to CUPE 4600's bargaining update, both settlements have been accepted by Carleton's Board of Governors and come into effect immediately.

The voting to ratify the proposed tentative settlements for both units was held between Nov. 24-26.
