Name: Mary Werre
Program/year: Second-year Public Affairs and Policy Management
Position running for: PAPM councillor
Why are you running for CUSA council? I really enjoyed being an active member of RRRA council and would like to take what I have learned from council and apply it to CUSA. I believe PAPM deserves a representative that will take all opinions seriously.
What do you think makes you a good candidate?
I have had experience on council. I have shown my willingness to be neutral through the Resin and the Constitutional Review Board and I am a voice of reason. I am also extremely dedicated to my work and prefer compromising and getting along with people than starting conflict.
What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?
1. Increased funding and exposure for campus groups – these groups allow Carleton to become more than just a place for academics.
2. Work alongside AKCESS to get PAPM students more involved in CUSA events.
What’s one fun fact about yourself?
I have an unhealthy love for musicals, specifically Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera.
