Many might think that pole dancing is nothing more than a degrading type of dance meant purely for male entertainment, an art form for practicing strippers only. But it really deserves just as much credit as any other type of dance.
As ridiculous as grabbing a long metal rod and strutting your stuff might seem, it builds confidence and muscles. It takes an enormous amount of courage to get up there and work that pole in front of others or even in front of a mirror with no one else around. Getting comfortable with the pole requires getting comfortable with your body. Plus a little-known fact about pole dancing is that it is actually great exercise.
And who says pole dancers need an audience?
Pole dancing can be simply done for personal benefit. People can pole dance in private, in the comfort of their own homes — all you need is a pole.
Still there’s nothing wrong with wanting to put on a show if that’s what you’re into. Pole dancing for the one you love can be a lot of fun, too. Or even for strangers if it makes you happy.
Ladies, men, single people, married people — everyone can pole dance. And all the power to them if they do.
