St. Patrick’s Day happens every March 17, but observers got an early look at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in downtown Ottawa on Saturday.
Hundreds of people and dozens of floats closed down the roads leading into the historically Irish ByWard Market, celebrating Ottawa’s rich Irish culture.
Beginning at 12 p.m. outside of the Supreme Court of Canada, the parade featured the Irish Ambassador to Canada, John Concannon, Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe and many Ottawa city councillors.
From bagpipes to flags, attendees dressed out in green and gold to bask in the parade.
