Jay Dearborn, 27, studied sustainable and renewable energy engineering at Carleton, where he also played as a defensive back for the Ravens football team from 2016-18. In 2019, Dearborn signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL), where he is currently rostered.

He was introduced to bobsleigh in June 2019 after he was released from the Roughriders due to a calf injury. He’s a first-time Olympian and will be competing in both two-man and four-man bobsleigh.

In 2018, Schmidt joined the national ski cross team, the sport she’ll be competing in at Beijing as a first-time Olympian. Her younger brother Jared will also compete at Beijing in the same sport.
