The Carleton University Students’ Association council is assembling for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Starting today and ending Thursday at 5 p.m., undergraduate students can vote for candidates in their faculty on a ballot sent to their Carleton emails.
Councillor responsibilities include passing the CUSA budget and electing the association’s vice presidents.
The council has 32 seats for faculty representatives, including one seat for special students (students who have not been admitted to a degree program but are taking courses).
There are only 18 candidates seeking election, so a by-election will be held to fill the vacancies.
Some candidates have submitted additional information and platforms to CUSA’s candidate profile page.
Sienna Scullion and Yaser Abidakadr are both listed on the candidate profile page but said in an email they were “ejected” from the election.
Both candidates failed to fulfill nomination requirements, chief returning officer Basit Ur Rehman wrote in an email to the Charlatan.
