It might be surprising that perhaps the most popular puzzle today, the Rubik’s cube, was created only a few decades ago in 1974 by Hungarian professor of architecture Ernö Rubik. On Nov. 10, the creator of the curious cubes came to Carleton to host a competition to see which contestant could solve the colourful conundrums the quickest. Rubik also held a discussion with event attendees about creativity and imagination.

The event in Richcraft Hall was held in partnership with the Embassy of Hungary to Canada and featured opening remarks by Hungarian ambassador Mária Vass-Salazar and Carleton president Benoit-Antoine Bacon.
