Things weren’t pretty for the women’s field hockey team this year at Carleton.
Despite a relatively experienced roster, with half the team in third-year or higher, led by captain Nora Draper the team didn’t even manage to find the back of the net until nine games into the season.
At that point, over halfway through the 14-game season, the Ravens had already surrendered 28 goals against despite strong play from rookie goaltender Victoria Sapsford.
The ladies managed only three tallies on the season, finishing with an embarrassing 2-9-3 record and no hopes of making the playoffs.
And things aren’t looking up for the team next season as they say goodbye to three graduating players, including Draper and OUA second team all-star Catherine Potter.
The good news is that next year’s young blood won’t have too much pressure on their shoulders, as even a 20 per cent winning ratio will be an improvement on this season.
