The Orpheus Musical Theatre Society’s Shrek the Musical was a fun twist on an iconic childhood classic that reached a diverse audience. The plot follows Princess Fiona (Vivian Melsness), a feisty young woman who has been locked in a tower awaiting her knight in shining armor. Legally Blonde gives opportunities for new talent

Elle Woods steps into uncharted territory—in pink high heels—when she enters Harvard Law School. The director and the lead actress of Orpheus Musical Theatre Society’s upcoming production of Legally Blonde the Musical are also stepping into the unknown. The show will open the company’s 108th season and is based on the 2001 film, starring Reese Witherspoon, that tells the story of a sorority girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to law school and discovers she’s smarter than she thought. This is drama teacher Cindy Beaton’s first time directing a production for Orpheus after being involved with the Ottawa community theatre company for 20 years.
