The Ravens men’s basketball team beat the University of Ottawa (U of O) Gee-Gees 67-56 in the Capital Hoops Classic on Feb. 2 in a tight and tough game—just as Ravens forward Marcus Anderson had anticipated. “We knew they were going to punch us in the mouth, but we had to just keep rallying back,” Anderson said. He added that the Gee-Gees had improved since their last meeting where Carleton won 74-53. “They got a lot more experience going into the future,” Anderson said of the improved Gee-Gees. “Coming in, they’ve played a couple of close games. Men’s basketball advances to OUA Gold Medal game, clinches national berth

The Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team defeated the Brock Badgers by a score of 89-64 on Mar. 3 in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Semifinal at the Ravens’ Nest. The win clinched a spot at the U SPORTS men’s basketball Final 8 Championship in Halifax, NS from Mar. 9-12. Before heading to Halifax, the Ravens will host the Ryerson Rams in the OUA Gold Medal game at the Ravens’ Nest on Mar. 4. The Gold Medal game will be a rematch from last season, which saw the Ravens fall 73-68, but eventually win the national title. Ravens guards Kaza Kajami-Keane and Marcus Anderson led the Ravens with 25 and 19 points apiece. Brock guard Johneil Simpson led the Badgers with 24 points off the bench. […]

Men’s basketball completes undefeated season

The Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team completed an undefeated regular season, as they defeated the Ryerson Rams and the University of Toronto (U of T) Varsity Blues to finish 19-0 in the standings. The wins marked Carleton’s first undefeated season since 2013-14. “We’re probably halfway done, we’re not even 75 percent yet so we still got a long way to go,” said Ravens forward Ryan Ejim. “We got [Ontario University Athletics]s and then we got Nationals, and we need to gear up for that and try to go on another run.” Heading into the game against Ryerson, the two teams are averaging some similar statistics. Men’s basketball remain undefeated

The Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team extended their undefeated record to 17-0 with road wins against the Queen’s Gaels and York Lions. The Ravens beat Queen’s 93-50 on Feb. 10 before defeating York by a score of 114-50. “Both games were pretty good,” said forward Marcus Anderson following the games. “We started off pretty rough but we came out strong.” The Queen’s game was close halfway through the first quarter, as the home team took a 7-6 when Gaels forward Jesse Graham hit a pair of free throws. Men’s basketball opens season with win

The Carleton Ravens men’s basketball team led off their regular season with a 93-65 routing of the Algoma Thunderbirds on Nov. 18 at the George Leach Centre. Ravens guard Kaza Kajami-Keane poured in 24 points, added seven assists, and hit two three-pointers to lead the scoring for the top-ranked team in the nation. Algoma’s Jermaine Lyle led the Thunderbirds with a 13 points. The first quarter of the game marked the debut of Ravens guard Joe Rocca, who had transferred to Carleton from McMaster University.
