CUPE 2424 holds information picket

CUPE 2424, Carleton’s union that represents around 850 administrative, technical, and library staff, held an information picket Tuesday morning in regards to ongoing negotiations with the university. Pickets were held at both the Colonel By and Bronson Avenue entrances. Carleton posted a press release to alert students and faculty about the picket line and traffic delays that would result. They also said negotiations with CUPE 2424 began in July and are still ongoing. “The parties have been bargaining in good faith and have made progress on many issues. Bargaining is scheduled to continue on Jan. 9, 2018, with the assistance of a provincially-appointed conciliator,” the press release said.
