Carleton’s Giving Tuesday smashes goal

Carleton’s fifth-annual Giving Tuesday campaign significantly surpassed its goal on Nov. 28. The objective heading into the day was to raise $250,000 for Carleton projects, but donors raised just over $386,000 this year. Giving Tuesday is an annual global event for people to donate to charities, clubs, and projects. It normally takes place the week after Black Friday, following American Thanksgiving. For Carleton, it involved over 1,000 projects and causes this year, which included a wide range of topics, from science and engineering projects to sports teams. Swim Team looks to improve on breakout year

The Ravens swim team had a largely successful year this season, with multiple program records broken and their biggest roster since 2007. Their success comes after facing difficulties in previous years, with support and numbers in the program dwindling. However, team manager Lynn Marshall said the swim team has since improved with the help of fundraising. “We had a successful “Giving Tuesday” campaign and raised about $4000 last December,” Marshall said. “That money was used to subsidize our small travel budget, and to buy swim caps, T-shirts, and jackets for the team, as well as for partial refunds on swim fees for those swimmers that excelled.” Marshall added the swim team is hopeful they will receive more funding from Athletics […]

Carleton hosts Giving Tuesday fundraising drive

Carleton hosted its annual Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1, part of the worldwide movement that encourages philanthropy following the American shopping holidays Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
