Noah Richardson: Features Editor

Noah is a curious-minded coffee lover from Summerside, a tiny city on Prince Edward Island. Though he often longs for the ocean, he couldn’t be happier studying and working here in our nation’s capital, a city he fell in love with years ago. He’s a self-proclaimed news junkie who spends much of his spare time sharing his thoughts in 140 characters or fewer and Instagramming pictures of mostly his meals. Noah’s wanted to be a journalist since he watched his very first newscast as a child. He’s often said his childhood was narrated by the sounds of CBC Radio One. People who know Noah well know he loves to laugh, tell stories, and most importantly ask questions. He’s also passionate […]

When not being frazzled over journalism assignments or English and philosophy essays, she’s typically practicing her ukulele, listening to podcasts, re-tweeting Lin Manuel-Miranda, or nursing her constant iced tea and boba cravings somewhere around downtown Ottawa. Mariam Abdel-Akher: Multimedia Editor

Mariam Abdel-Akher is a second-year journalism student, who likes sunsets, but hates taking long walks on the beach. In her free time, she enjoys creating videos and documentaries with her family and friends, listening to music, playing Sudoku, and spending time with her dog. Mariam speaks three languages (English, French, Arabic), loves to sing (as in key as possible), and tries to exercise as much as possible (once every few months is okay, right?). Mariam is super excited to be working as multimedia editor for the Charlatan during Volume 47! She hopes to receive many eager volunteers, who love making videos just as much as she does. Her goal for this year is to visually intrigue Carleton students online to […]
