Water crisis on reserves, students say

Students from the University of Winnipeg served dirty and potentially dangerous water in their cafeteria March 22 as part of a campaign to draw attention to the lack of clean drinking water in Manitoba First Nations communities.  

Members of the University of Winnipeg Students’ Association (UWSA) offered their peers glasses of water taken from Island Lake, one of Manitoba’s largest lakes and a water source that provides water to 10,000 people in four nearby aboriginal reserves.
